NICK ANDRE
born and raised in bakersfield, nick andre is an enigmatic producer who constructs his wares atop a foundation of pummeling drums and bass, primarily through the use of sampled vinyl breaks, voices, and melody. currently producing a new release for slept-on records (which he operates alongside fellow dj E da boss) which incorporates his solid-gold beats with appearances by several acclaimed veteran MCs, nicks dedication to his craft seems to consistently reward him with opportunity and revelation, encounters which are clearly on display through every scratch and subtle hook of his compositions. a san francisco resident for the time being, one would be hard-pressed to spend any amount of time in this city and not be able to catch at least one of nicks dj sets going on somewhere nearby. in 2003 nick discovered another outlet for his innate rhythmic sense, taking up playing bass in the live incarnation of brookhaven, and lending his sound to the stage.
