RYOHEI HINOKUMA

through a firmly grounded electro/organic alloy of synthesizers, drum programming and soaring live instrumentation, ryohei hinokuma composes urgent and innovative instrumental records based on his complex and disciplined guitar work. evoking odd melodic passages by way of repetition and intensified through generous amounts of delay and reverb, he introduces the listener to a hazy and rhapsodic aural landscape, as melancholic as it is triumphant. various sampled source material is also reshaped and processed as programmed drums race along, detailing each twist in arrangement and augmenting each booming wave. ryohei first appeared on expels SONS OF WINDED ARMIES compilation (‘suicide temple’) and recently contributed some guitar and programming work to brookhavens ‘transitive verses’ LP. currently ryohei is beginning work on a new recording, on which details are few, as well as lending his guitar skills to brookhavens live show. its all HINOKUMA can do to attempt to satiate his present musical velocity, as the momentum of his sound carries headlong through time.
